Exactly, Vegas is a fantastic thing for her to be doing, I think in the long run it's going to please everyone because she'll be around playing live
and at the same time working on a new album/ any films that come her way, because her schedule is more flexible then it would be if she was touring all over
the world. I think what she's got going is great and you can see it in her face when she's doing her show at the Caesars how happy she is to be back.
I've never seen someone look happier in my life.
I'm not the best at anything that I do. I'm not the best singer, I'm not the best performer, I'm not the best actor. All I know is that there are is something about me that people like. - Cher 1991 - |

I am sorry that my comment started a whole bad vibe. I just wanted to know if anyone agreed. Apparently some do, and some do not. I really like the idea of
a new CD and a Vegas show.... I do not like the idea of people telling me "I'll Live" just because I voiced an opinion. You probably wont see
many more comments from me with that kind of talk. Which is sad because I check this site often. |

Well in the spirit of Cher, I don't give a damn who I piss off with my opinion. These people are probably the same people that think you are Un-American if
you speak out against the war or the president. The minute I saw Cher come from the ceiling singing "I still havent found what I'm looking for"
on youtube that was it. I think it's total laziness that the show is not completely new. First there was the Believe Tour, then basically a slight retool
with the Believe/Farewell Tour and now 3 years of the Extended Extra Long Believe Farewell Never Can Say Goodbye Tour stuck at 1 venue. It sucks plain and
simple and I, yes I as in selfish me wants a CD, Movie and or TV apprearances over this. I am not sorry for my opinion and won't be apologizing to the
fanatics that worship Cher no matter what. And yes I know about the oh so slight changes in the show, more clips, a couple of songs dropped and added, some
different costumes and Laverne. Big whoop!! Oops forgot different stage--well duh. I love Cher but this show is as bad as another greatest hits package, all
designed to suck more money out of "fanatics" with minimum effort/output.

BTW a new CD wont be coming out anytime soon, you have to get the musicians, it takes months to record unless the artist is willing to put in major hours, time
to mix it, do a photo shoot for the layout, the graphics for the CD and then get it pressed and ready to ship to retail. All this plus Cher has not even been
in the studio although there is the rumour that she has picked the songs. Can anyone confirm that later part. I'm not hoping because it isn't going to
happen, I know I've been in the music industry (DJ) and retail side of music a long time.

your type of reply is what has me so upset about this site and why I responded the way I did in my post. you have your opinion and I have mine but I will not
reduce myself to nastiness regardless of how subtle one tries to make it. Peace.

Have you even seen the new show yet??? Its sold out everynight she plays the Colosseum. I live in Vegas and the show is the talk of the town and the most
sought after ticket. I was at opening nights performance and thought it was over the top!!! She was Great!!! Sure she sings all of her hits because thats what
the general concert person wants to hear. I`m sorry that you are so tired of hearing the same old songs that made her famous but there are tons and tons of
people in the world that have never even seen her in concert before. So all of this is new to them. It was Caesars who made her cut the show down to 90 minutes
because that is the general time for a Las Vegas show. Plus they had to pay the union people who work with the show overtime if it went past 90 minutes. There
was a story about it in the newpaper here in Vegas.

chercraze wrote: thanks for the confirmation about the 90 minute rule... I knew someone mentioned about it but glad someone who actually lives in Vegas can confirm it. I agree... people do want to hear her hits which is why it's so puzzling that she keeps cutting them and not the ones that are less popular. It's like they're trying to get us to like the shows less. Weird... |

Chercraze, and your point is what ? Did you not read my post. I could give a rat's a** about the sold out blah blah blah rhetoric about the show, 90 minute
blah blah blah. I've seen Bette - who's shows teeter on 2 1/2 hours because she does several encores, Madonna, Donna Summer, Cyndi Lauper - again
several encores and she does sing fan favorites that were NOT hits. Their shows change, the songs and or the order in which they're sung as well as the
style/music. The words may be the same but at least the music is different. Plain and simple Cher and or Cher's people have gotten lazy, uncreative or both
and the excuse that she has to do the "songs" everyone knows is bull. She has fans that are older and don't even know the newer stuff as well as
younger fans that don't even know say the 80's & 90's stuff. Your logic is lost and you're making excuses and defending your idol. You
would probably defend her if she were holding a smoking pistol and there was a dead man on the floor with a bullet hole---LOL. The point I was trying to make
is I have my opinion and you have yours. It seems as though anyone that does not agree with what Cher chooses to do or not do is automatically the antichrist
and must be destroyed/attacked. Get over it, it's just a different opinion/wish than yours. If you wish to just accept what's going on in Cher's
career that's your choice. I might add that it would probably not exist without most if not all her fans, the ones who accept anything she dishes out and
the ones who are a little more discerning. In any event I am sure Cher is not losing sleep over my discontent with her choice, if she never did anything again
she has enough money to last the rest of her life. Maybe she is doing this for money or maybe there is no movie offers plus she has how much time to complete
how many CD's for her contract so maybe it's not a priority. Who knows but Cher and her management. I STILL DON'T WANT VEGAS--THE END. I've
spent thousands on Cher concerts and want something else other than a simple retool of the last, what 10 years of concerts. PEACE !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

chercraze wrote: So your reasoning is it's sold out and that means it somehow different/good. That type of reasoning would mean all Cher's music that flopped is not good because it didn't sell well. Vegas will sell out almost anything, there is so many tourists there that almost every show is sold out and without advance tickets you're not even going to get into an older Cirque show. So again what's your point? |

ok I could be wrong but it sounds like you're angry and why? I don't know. If I'm wrong. I apologize. If you don't want to see Cher in Vegas
then don't go. Simple as that.
And you're exactly right. There are an awful lot of tourists right now watching Cher's shows and are not even interested in her shows because they're not fans and probably never heard of half her songs or hits. Chercraze is right, there's been a lot of people who have never seen her live before so it's nice to see her back after the farewell tour and it was nice that she did have those big hits because a lot of people didn't get to see her perform them live. That's why it's a shame she cut them out. Now those fans who haven't seen her perform them won't be able to see them... unless she adds them back in later on during her three year run. I'm just thinking maybe because people complained about the setlist being the same as the one from Believe and Farewell tours, Cher wanted to try and do something else, something very new. Obviously, throwing out the big hits isn't making everyone happy even though some people were tired of hearing some of the songs she already performed since the Believe tour. Imagine that... they're tired of her singing the same songs she did on her Farewell tour and now she cut them out, they want them back! lol I think Cher is going to make lots of changes from time to time for the next three years. She can't please everyone but I think is that she cannot please everyone right now but at some point when she is in Vegas for the next three years, I think more and more people will be happy. People get tired of the setlist from the farewell tour so Cher cuts out some songs done on the farewell tour so that should make some people happy. Then other people wanted her to do the songs she did on the farewell tour, not even caring that they've seen it but she's not doing it now.... she could start doing those songs again in August or sometimes later on. So if you don't like the shows right now, you might later on! |

Like I thought, you have never seen the show in Vegas so how can you have such a sour opinion of something you have never seen in person??????? By the way
Bettes show is not 2 1/2 hours long now either and Cher is out selling her like crazy in tickets sells. Caesars cut her show back to 90 minutes also because of
the same reasons they gave Cher. You must move on and face the fact that you can`t rule her career choices. She is going to do what she wants and if you don`t
like it you should move on to another star that meets your demands!!! GOOD LUCK!!! PEACE RIGHT???

as I said, zombies that will accept anything and everything the star does. I will remind you that is my opinion and you have yours, however YOU do not have the
right to tell me who/how to worship or when to move on. I am just a little more discerning and don't gobble everything Cher does or any star for that
matter. In other words I am not a fanatic zombie obsessive follower of any star and reserve the right to praise or give less favorable reviews also. I hope she
tires of it before the 3 years, hope they buy out her contract and she moves on to movies movies and more movies and a new CD every couple of years....one can
hope.

maxbull wrote: Well I think Vegas has developed a bad rep over the years of being the home of "washed up" A-listers from the 1950s and a bunch of G-Listers
playing little seedy casinos.
Because sure, she can go on a conventional tour, but most people are not going to fly to some timbuk-two place out in Missouri to see Cher, but yet many people *would* go to Vegas, because it's a tourist city and there's plenty to do out there anyway, before AND after the show. If she's playing several dates in one place, people know where she is all year, and... I just think it's basically easier for most people to see her that way. As far as the rest of her career, I personally wouldn't mind if she took a hiatus from music (not that I'm encouraging it!) and made a couple more
good movies.

heard much from her but she wrote for a magazine for a while. I can't really speak on her, I have no idea what she's really doing, but I can't
imagine she's just sitting home eating bon-bons waiting for a check from Cher to arrive.
