Although i think she would've been great in that movie i'm sooo glad she turned it down. I'm still traumatized after seeing 'If These Walls Could Talk' i don't think i could see Cher being raped/shooting someone, however its a great movie!

I know Cher was so thrilled about The Enchanted Cottage so I never realised why it didn't happen :dizzy:

I think she'd be great in it, maybe she'll still make it,you never know :cool:

Plot Summary for
The Enchanted Cottage (1945)

A homely maid and a scarred ex-GI meet at the cottage where she works and where he was to spend his honeymoon prior to his accident. The two develop a bond and agree to marry, more out of loneliness than love. The romantic spirit of the cottage, however, overtakes them. They soon begin to look beautiful to each other, but no one else.

As you know Cher loves old movies..........She bought this film with the intension of directing and performing in the remake. This project has been the wings since the earlies 90's

I had read that Cher was very interested in doing "Enchanted Cottage" as a Hollywood musical, shortly after she won her Oscar for "Moonstruck" with Norm Jewison directing once again and Nic Cage opposite her (once again). Hollywood said "no" since they weren't interested in musicals at the time.

Then I heard she presented it to the studios once again after the Oscar success of "Chicago" four years ago - but was sidetracked with the offer of "Auntie Mame" instead (but nothing ever came of either one).

Now knowing the synopis of "Enchanted Cottage", it would have been a great musical.

Speaking of "Auntie Mame" - why isn't this listed? This was originally intended as a cinema release (2003) (before Disney handed it over to their ABC network).

What about "Sunset Boulevard" - why isn't this listed? She supposedly was on the short-list for this (with Streisand, Liza Minnelli, and Glenn Close).

Cher should have done Thelma & Louise and Basic Instinct, that would have been so fabulous!...and as for Sunset Boulevard I couldn't imagine a better person for the role of Norma Desmond, though after checking out IMDB, it doesn't say anything about Cher being attached to the project. It only says that Glenn Close is rumoured for the part. The status of the project was updated in November so if Cher was involved they should have mentioned it by now...fingers crossed though, particularly as the male protagonist has not been announced yet.
