When you first visit the domain/board, you will see the banner at top and this:



Here is a brief summary of what you see:

A. Any and all board announcements will be here, currently the chat room is being announced.

B. Featured Topics, these are topics that either the mod team have designated as important for everyone to see or topics that have been kudo'd enough times to be featured.

C. Community Profile, more on this later.

D. The chat room, it shows only one person is currently chatting. Click "Cher Chat" to actually join.

E. One of several boards, on the main domain listing you will see the name and description of each board, the number of topics, posts, kudos and the thread title, the name of and date/time of the most recent post.

The mini Cher icon on the left means someone is in the chat or that there are new posts on this board since you've last visited.

Search Tags are keywords used on posts to help people find related topics or ones of interest.



A. On the top of most board pages, you will see the Search Tags box. Here are keywords, users have inserted into their threads to help people find them. The more times the same tag is used, the larger the tag appears. For example the youtube tag is larger because several topics use this tag. As more users insert tags into their threads, every board will have this box and you can click any word to find topics that are related.

B. Tags or keywords are only shown in the lead (first post) of a topic. In this example, some tags used are itunes and Celine Dion. If you click one of the tags, you would see other topics that also use that tag.

C. When you start your own thread, right under the smilies, make sure to add your own tags to the topic. Each tag must be seperated by a comma, and they all appear in lowercase so don't worry about caps. This is how you would add Cher, Living Proof and Album as your tags: cher, living proof, album

D. Post options, choose whether to use a signature or not and which of your available 5 to use.

E. In example B you saw a topic with the tag celine dion. After I clicked that tag, I was directed to a list of topics with that tag. Only one topic uses the celine dion tag.

Reporting Posts

A. On every post, in the lower right corner you will see a Report Post dropdown menu. Click it on the specific post you want to report, make a selection and if you have more comments, add them to the next screen. When you're done click submit. The report is private and alerts the mods that there is a problem. This is an important feature and a great service to the mods. Thank you for your help.
