I think it is HILARIOUS how people keep on talking about how Celine Dion is the "original" queen of the Colloseum. When wasn't it like 1982 when Cher first head-lined at Caesars Palace? Cher was rocking that place before the world even knew who Celine Dion was!

Ultra Cher Fan Cher Contributor Posts: 268 Thu, Oct 9, 2008 4:17 PM	I do think it is funny that people think Celine is more of a Diva Queen than Cher, but Celine is the Queen of the Colosseum, they built it especially for her. Cher was at Caesars in 1982, but she was never at the Colosseum. Don't get me wrong, I don't like Celine, and I am a gargantuan Cher fan, but they are sorta right, whoever said it.

Veteran Cher Fan Kudos Rookie Posts: 28 Thu, Oct 9, 2008 5:33 PM	I don't think people hold Celine higher than Cher necessarily - I just think people remember how Caesar's used to have just a showroom until Celine Dion came around and inspired the Colosseum to be built. I'm just happy that Cher decided to make the Colosseum her new home for a little while.

Both artists are exceptional in their field and have proven so throughout the years. There's really no need to compare Celine Dion and Cher. They're both singers who have a passion and love for what they do. Yes, Cher performed at Caesars Palace before Celine Dion did. She is older, after all. Yes, Caesars Palace did build The Colosseum for Celine's show, A New Day.... They were brought with the proposal, after all. It is what it is. - Joe PS...I have yet to understand how anybody can say that anybody is currently the "Queen" of The Colosseum considering Cher, um, shares the same venue with Elton John and Bette Midler. Celine did the same with Elton when she was performing. The only way an artist could "reign" over the venue is if they were the ONLY artist to perform there. That's my two cents.
