We were lucky enough to see Cher's show on Tuesday, March 10th. After the show, the gift shop was packed so we waited about an hour when there were only a handful of people shopping. We were in the rear of the store when my husband grabbed my arm and said quietly, "Look, there she is!". He's quite a joker so naturally I didn't believe him. But I looked up and there she was, not more than 5 feet away, casually leaning against the doorjam to the "employee only" door. At first I thought it was one of those life-sized cardboard things the stores sometimes have. Then she turned her head and looked our way. She smiled at my husband, my sister waved and Cher nodded to her. Me? I was frozen with my hand over my mouth. And it wasn't just that I was star-struck. This woman is not just gorgeous. She positively GLOWS! This was in a store with lights that made the rest of us look like we were two days away from a liver transplant and she looked radiant. Even my husband commented on it. And I don't think it was just the makeup. I was just gathering my courage to try to catch her eye and mouth the words "thank you" (her show was fabulous and we really enjoyed ourselves) when some rude woman ran past us, shoved me into a Cher t-shirt and hat display table (could have been worse - at least I wasn't standing at the coffee cup rack) and tried to take her picture. When I regained my balance, some huge man in black (bodyguard?) was closing the door and she was gone. BUT..my impression was that she was enjoying watching people shopping in her shop. Her eyes were sparkling and she had one of those little amused smiles on her face the whole time I stared (OK, yes, it was rude to stare but I couldn't help it. I'm telling you, this woman glows). The clerk that rang us up was a little rattled (I had to remind him to charge me for two coffee mugs instead of just one) and said she had never done that. She apparently had brought some friends' little boys down there to get Cher gear. So if you're in Las Vegas, keep an eye out. You never know where she'll pop up.
